Why we started
Pablo came to hotels from e-commerce, where he'd spent years running marketplaces, SEO and digital marketing. He saw the same pattern in hospitality that marketplaces had forced on retailers: OTAs like Booking.com and Expedia getting larger and more powerful, charging steep commissions while keeping hotels from owning their own customer relationships. Most hoteliers say OTAs exert too much control over their pricing and visibility. Most agencies promising to fix it lack transparency and don't deliver.
So Room Rankers was built around a different idea: don't fight the OTAs, engineer them. Drive more direct bookings while optimizing OTA performance, and strike the balance that maximizes occupancy and net profit. Then, because the work is relentless and the tools are always changing, build the software and the AI agents that keep it running.
